Job Description

AECOM is seeking a strong Biology or Ecology focused candidate with Wetland, Soils, Environmental Science, GIS or Environmental Permitting experience and preferably with all of these skills. This position is within our Environmental Planning & Permitting (EPP) Practice in the Northeast US. This role is to support our Power/Electric Transmission market sector, federal/state/local and industrial client sectors. Focus will be supporting and executing projects related to electrical transmission infrastructure, and renewables including offshore wind interconnects, solar development projects, as well as industrial, commercial, and state/federal projects including ecosystem restoration projects. Ability to lead or co-lead wetland delineations and wildlife surveys, assist in project permitting and utilize GIS skills to produce project deliverables desirable. The position is based in New England and may be partially remote, for the right candidate. This position will require time split in field and office settings.

Prior experience supporting natural resources field studies, surveys and environmental permitting of electrical transmission projects with particular focus in Massachusetts, CT, RI and NH highly desirable.

Experience with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act Regulations, MEPA, Section 404/401 and strong writing and verbal communications skills desired. The successful candidate will be joining one of the strongest and deepest Environmental Permitting and Planning Practices Teams in the northeast with an extensive backlog of project work in multiple client sectors and a strong presence in the renewable energy arena. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Biology, Wetland Science, Soil Science, Ecology, Environmental Science, Geology or related field with 4+ years of experience.

  • Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

  • Permitting, Wetlands, Environmental Inspection or GIS experience in electrical transmission, solar, other renewable energy, or power transmission related industries.

  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Biology, Wetland Science, Soil Science, Ecology, Environmental Science, or Geology preferred

  • 5+ Years Experience

  • Technical Report Preparation/Permitting Support in the Northeast/New England preferred

  • Wetlands Delineation Experience in Northeast/New England preferred

  • Lead Wetland Delineation Expertise desirable

  • Prior experience supporting wetlands delineation, T&E surveys and GIS background desirable.

  • Permitting Experience in RI, NH, ME, CT, MA or NY and NJ.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $65,182.00 - $114,069.00.
