Job Summary:

The selected applicant will provide expert review and input on inspection, fabrication, construction, and specification writing of hydraulic steel structures (e.g. Tainter gates, bulkhead gates, penstocks, etc) focused on weld procedures, NDT testing, and paint coating applications.

The preferred candidate will be:

  • An AWS CWI or senior CWI with over 10 years’ experience in inspection of welding performed on hydraulic steel structures and or bridges.

  • An ASNT Level II or Level III with experience in RT, UT, MT, PT, and VT inspection methods.

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 NACE Certified Coating Inspector with familiarity in vinyl and non-vinyl coating systems.

Additionally, the applicant will provide training guidance on AWS D1.5, D1.1, A2.4, C4.4 and A5.4 and best practices regarding welding procedures and NDT testing.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree plus four (4) years of relevant experience OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Senior CWI with over 10 years’ experience in inspection of welding performed on hydraulic steel structures and or bridges.

  • ASNT Level III with experience in RT, UT, MT, PT, and VT inspection methods.

  • Level 3 NACE Certified Coating Inspector with familiarity in vinyl and non-vinyl coating systems.

  • Previous experience on federal hydraulic steel structure projects

  • Previous experience in providing training on AWS guidance and NDT testing
