Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Permitting Manager to work remotely . However, the client is located in Sacramento, CA and thus it's expected that this individual's working hours be on Pacific Timezone.

SUMMARY:

This role will support the efficient strategy development and implementation for pre-Record of Decision environmental permitting, ensuring compliance with Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, while assessing the need for additional documentation and permits for maintenance and emergency activities on property.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support in pre-record of decision environmental permitting activities pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 7 of the federal Endangered Species Act, among others

  • Develop strategy and review documentation and reports

  • Support staff to coordinate with permitting agencies during the environmental review process

  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders as directed

  • Support staff to manage existing nonoperational right-of-way (ROW)

  • Evaluate compliance with existing federal, State and local permits as they pertain to nonoperational ROW

  • Evaluate the need for additional federal, State, and local permits to cover existing and planned maintenance activities on nonoperational ROW

  • Evaluate compliance with existing environmental documents prepared pursuant to the California

  • Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) or, where such compliance with existing documentation may be insufficient, the need for additional CEQA/NEPA documentation to cover existing and planned maintenance activities on nonoperational ROW

  • Act as a liaison with and advisor to other branches and their consultants for the performance of any work on nonoperational ROW

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in biology, environmental science, or related field

  • Experience with major environmental laws, including CEQA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, state and federal endangered species acts, Porter-Cologne Act, Lake/streambed alteration agreements

  • Experience with construction compliance tracking, documentation, and reporting

  • Experience with a variety of project delivery processes, such as design-build contracting

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,004.00 - $203,508.00.
