AECOM’s Gulf-Southwest Region is actively seeking a highly motivated Staff Civil Engineer for employment in the Salt Lake City, Utah office. This position will involve working with a multidisciplinary team of civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, environmental engineers, and geologists all of which work together to conceive, permit, design and construct large earthwork, structural and piping projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide civil engineering and design support for dams, landfills, mining projects, and power projects.
Interact and support geotechnical, structural, transportation, hydrologic and hydraulic engineering disciplines.
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
Perform civil engineering analyses including geotechnical, structural, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modeling, quantity calculations, earthwork design calculations, pipe design and layout.
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member.
Demonstrate ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related field required.
2+ years of experience
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position.
Due to Nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Experience with hydraulic modeling software and calculations
Project Management and Budgeting Knowledge
Reputation as a high performer
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of AutoCad Civil 3D
