AECOM Buyer IV - Contract Manager in San Diego, California
Company Description
AECOM has a position available for a Buyer IV/Contract Manager to join our growing Energy Business Line supporting large multi-year projects as part of the program and construction management team.
Job Description
The projects include grid modernization, transportation electrification, renewable fuels, emerging markets in hydrogen and carbon capture, microgrids, solar and battery storage, and other energy projects.
AECOM is pursuing projects in the industrial, municipal, defense, and commercial market segments. AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.
The responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Works under general direction.
Works with the Company purchasing systems and processes.
Understands purchasing terminology, measures, concepts and principles for compiling bid proposals.
Recognizes purchasing processes/project actions that may impact the project.
Utilizes schedules in establishing and meeting procurement and materials management milestones.
Possesses the skills for analyzing bids to determine potential for cost savings.
Prepares evaluation of suppliers’ capabilities and Requests for Quotations for non-complex, engineered equipment.
Contacts suppliers for timely submittal of bids.
Tabulates bids and assists in performing bid analysis, and establishing cost reasonableness.
Contacts bidders for clarifications.
Maintains documentation of the procurement and materials management process.
Assists in the preparation of the negotiation strategy and may participate in negotiation meetings with suppliers.
Assists in the preparation of client approval packages prior to award.
Supports expediting timely deliveries.
Prepares purchase orders.
Assists in the preparation of procurement and materials management reports.
Assists in the evaluation of disputes with vendors.
Supports review of invoices and resolution of discrepancies.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid Drivers License with a good driving record
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction from ABET accredited college or university or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience
6+ years of relevant experience in procurement management in the engineering or construction industry.
Relevant Field Experience preferred
Success in working with remote teams

Offered rate of compensation (California & Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 annually exempt.
