Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Financial Analyst III for exciting multi-year program supporting one of our premier utility clients.

As a member of our project controls & finance team you will have primary responsibility for the successful planning and execution of projects within a program relating to revenue and expenditure. Their duties include creating, supporting and leading financial project plans with provisions for invoicing and billing, project and program accruals, financial reports (Monthly / Quarterly/Annual/ as required), prepare and participate in dynamic and strategic forecasting ensuring that projects stay on track financially within the guidelines of company, project execution plan and applicable regulatory agencies.

Heavy involvement and collaborating with both internal and client stakeholders to ensure program has focused and timely financial focus. The Ideal Candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable taking lead and demonstrate initiative with working level experience enabling them to provide financial, AR/AP/Billing and project facing financial controls guidance. Thorough understanding of business implications of decisions and display focus on profitability, cost drivers and ability to work with program leadership to facilitate sustained cost reductions through process and fact-based enhancements.

As a key member of the program team, the Financial Analyst III will execute and oversee all program related financial and associated reporting activities for program team. AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients.

The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Create and or enhance financial practices that support core tenants of program and consistent with AECOM policies and commitments. Including AECOM financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and other associated tasks

  • Serve as program financial liaison between client, team and subcontractor pool.

  • Participate in program project and program operational and mid-long-term forecasting.

  • Communication with stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure proper dissemination and understanding of financial health of program. Internal and external views

  • Establish and maintain a positive and cooperative client and program lead relationships.

  • Preparing and presenting financial reports to program and AECOM senior leadership.

  • Recommend, gain approval for implementation of enhanced and or new financial polices to support program and corporate goals.

  • Review, assess, and analyze (as required) raw data that comes from project automated systems.

  • Lead and manage support teams associated with finance, project financial controls, invoice and billing.

  • Ensure post-implementation reviews of completed projects within the portfolio to ensure they were successful and make data supported recommendation to project team for enhancements.

  • Develop, manage, and report Risk/Reward KPI performance.

  • Establish and or enhance program level AR/AP/billing process map identifying workflows, contractual requirements, timing, etc.

  • Establish / enhance a program level matrixed support team.

  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend to the team corrective measures.

  • Serve as a liaison between the billing team, subs, and SDG&E billing team, as required.

  • Facilitate and present required monthly and ad-hoc reports to program leadership.

  • Develop, manage, and report Risk/Reward KPI performance.

  • Manage project-level change and risk with the associated teams and assess any impacts on AECOM financials.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or related degree + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MS in Finance, Accounting, or related degree

  • 5+ years of experience related to financial budgeting and practices

  • Experience with AECOM systems, including Oracle and Unifier

  • Experience working closely with regulatory agencies

  • Strong understanding of AR/AP/Billing and project facing financial controls guidance

  • Advanced level of proficiency in MS Office Suite, key skills in Excel (formulas and pivots)

  • Demonstrated ability to combine large data sets and perform informative analysis

  • Experience facilitating cost reductions through process and fact-based enhancements.

  • Strong understanding of forecasting, cash flow management and other associated practices

  • Previous experience in developing, managing, and reporting Risk/Reward KPI performance.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $120,000.00.
