AECOM Steel Erection Superintendent in SAN FRANCISCO, California

Shimmick Construction, an AECOM Co., is looking to hire a Senior level Superintendent to work in San Francisco, CA. This person will be responsible for supervising erection and connections of structural steel. This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Responsible for the organization, direction, supervision and coordination of construction activities on a construction project site as delineated in the applicable project execution procedures, site specific safety plan and project execution plan.
Accountable and overall responsibility for on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects.
Leads, directs and manages the entire direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.
Primary Liaison with client for day to day activities and long term operations.
Communicates and directs through other superintendents changes or modification of jobsite activities within assigned area of operations.
Accountable for compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
Primary interface and engagement with Project Executive and manager group to coordinate efforts.
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field + 12 Years of relevant experience
Structural Steel/retrofit background
Civil construction experience
Supervisory experience as a foreman or superintendent including 5+ years as a superintendent in structural steel
Experience in retrofit/rehabilitation work on existing steel bridges including riveted, bolted and welded structures, including current FHWA specifications for HS Fasteners
Experience in falsework for steel erection and jacking the structure from falsework
Experience in welded connections and the QA required for welders and weld testing
Experience in rigging material into tight places in existing structures
Experience working with hazardous materials such as red lead paint and methods to protect the safety of the workers and general public
Experience in safe work practices, scaffolding, fall protection, netting and other safety facilities
Satisfactory safety record on projects supervised
Capable of managing large Iron Worker crews (100 plus) from setting field expectations on safety, quality and production.
Experienced with maintaining with Union relationships.
Capable of communicating to senior management on cost forecasting and cycle scheduling.
