Job Summary
AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice is actively seeking a highly talented Project Manager to support active and future projects for growing suite projects for the Department of Energy. The candidate is to be based in one of the following offices: Albuquerque, NM, Denver, CO, Santa Fe, NM, or Colorado Springs, CO; but will be expected to travel to specific DOE job sites periodically for possibly extended periods of time.
AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture in a dynamic, interactive, and creative work environment.

Job Summary/Responsibilities
AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Manager for opportunity to oversee and manage new and exciting projects for the Department of Energy and other Federal Clients. The selected candidate will manage projects primarily associated with an existing portfolio of large capacity multi-year contracts. The position includes working with interdisciplinary technical leads to coordinate the successful execution of projects in design and construction.
Responsibilities include a proven track record of:
Acting as a primary point of contact with a client.
Reviewing and negotiating contracts and preparing fee proposals for mulit-discipline projects
Managing and leading federal projects ideally for the Dept. of Energy.
Familiarity with NQA-1 and ISO 9001 Quality Assurance programs.
Managing and directing professional and technical staff to complete complex architectural and engineering projects.
Coordinating internal resources and third parties/subcontractors for the execution of projects.
Ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and withing budget
Define project scopes and objectives; involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
Developing and monitoring a detailed project plan to track progress and identify shortfalls in a timely manner.
Change management and exercising appropriate escalation to management as necessary.
Performing risk management to minimize project risks.
Maintaining project documentation control.
Delivering positive financial metrics including as sold profit, billings and collection management.
Achieving contractual performance and financial milestones across the lifespan of multiyear / multitask order contracts.
Close successful collaboration with DOE Tier 1 contractors and other stakeholders.
Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to internal regional and Buildings + Places management
Oversees the development of work plans and organizes project studies
Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement
DOE business development
Oversee and develop technical approaches and cost estimates for proposals
Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills
Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
Prepare, coordinate and conduct project meeting: Prepare and maintain the agenda and the meeting minutes
Develop and maintain project schedule, project budget and risk register
Review Design Documents and Coordinate Design reviews with various stakeholders
Manages more complex projects that tend to be larger in scope and dollar.
Increasing responsibility for leadership of direct reports.
Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management
Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
BA/BS in Engineering or Architecture with + 8 years of relevant experience in the related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Valid Driver’s License Required
Drug testing will be required for this position
Preferred Qualifications :
Minimum 10 years of related experience
At least 6 years experience managing A/E design projects
Familiarity with DOE sites, missions, and cultures
Experience with Federal research, science and technology related facilities
PPM certification
Licensed PE or RA
Ability to work in Fast-paced environment and Coordinate with multiple stakeholders
Ability to obtain security clearance for access to DOD and DOE sites
