AECOM Senior Stormwater Engineer in Santa Maria, California

Job Summary

AECOM has a position available for a Senior Storm Water Engineer located in Raleigh, NC.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supporting a variety of project needs on all facets of regulatory compliance relating to stormwater management, stormwater permit support, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) development, Spill Prevention Countermeasure Control Plans (SPCC) development, compliance site assessments, and water quality assessments/analyses

  • Specialize in the preparation of technical reports such as Water Quality Technical Reports, Illicit Discharge Survey Reports, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention Countermeasure Control Plans (SPCC), and Water Quality Management Plans

  • Creative solutions to assist clients maintain regulatory compliance to common challenges

  • Working with regulators for permit revisions and development

  • Delegate work, mentor, and supervise junior staff while managing tasks of varying size and complexity

  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements

  • Provide creative project approaches through written, verbal, and graphic communication

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required

  • 8+ years of engineering experience focused on stormwater compliance

  • Demonstrated water quality knowledge of federal, state environmental legislation and regulations with focus on stormwater, wastewater, NPDES permitting and the Clean Water Act

  • Willing to travel as needed within the United States

  • Pre-employment motor vehicle driving record verification required is required

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

  • PE license is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience to include consulting Federal clients, or in related field preferred

  • Familiarity with all 40 CFR part 112 requirements and state variances desired

  • Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written (writing sample may be requested)

  • Nationwide travel (sometimes possibly up 50% of the time)
