AECOM Water Quality Scientist in Santa Maria, California
AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to provide water quality compliance services to Department of Defense (DOD) clients.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Research, review, and analyze water quality policy and regulations.
Lead regulatory compliance tasks relating to stormwater and wastewater management.
Prepare and review Water Quality Management Plans, which communicate stormwater and wastewater regulations affecting the management of water sources at a facility.
Prepare and review Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).
Review and assess compliance methodologies employed at a facility and provide feedback and creative solutions to reduce overall risk of non-compliance.
Mentor and supervise junior staff while managing tasks of varying sizes and complexity.

Bachelor's Degree in Science
8 years of experience focused on water quality compliance
Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations that implement the Clean Water Act
Strong focus and attention to detail
Strong writing, critical thinking, and reasoning skills
Basic knowledge of ArcGIS and AutoCAD software
Experience reviewing and/or writing Spill Prevention Countermeasure Control (SPCC) Plans
Experience consulting DOD clients
Knowledge of DOD management practices as they relate to environmental compliance
Nationwide travel (50% of the time)
Due to nature of this role, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Offered rate of compensationwill be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range of this position is: $78,000 - $145,000.
