AECOM Assistant Construction Project Manager II in Savannah, Georgia
AECOM is hiring an Assistant Construction Project Manager supporting the Georgia Port Authority, one of the largest and fastest growing ports. The position will reside at the AECOM Savannah office. In this role you will support the Construction Manager in the procurement, oversight, and inspection for the delivery of a wide variety of projects including crane electrical and communication systems, complex marine terminals, container gate, container yards, intermodal rail, utilities, and other port/marine related engineering projects.
Under moderate supervision assists the Project Management team with management administration on a moderate size and scope project, or a portion of a large size and scope project, following set guidelines for completion of tasks
Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor. Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training. Employee handles some unusual situations independently
Interfaces with design team
Interfaces with Contractors to address project questions/issues
Assists with and monitors change orders
May assist with regulatory compliance and financial reporting
Review project costs, Contractor pay applications, and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contract
Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate
Lead meetings and report on project tasks as needed
Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties. Performs field inspections and/or audit duties and maintains inspection records. Ensures all contract documents represented by working drawings and specifications are properly executed
Relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Provides on the job training to new employees
Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties
Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
Tracks quality assurance progress
Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers

BA/BS + 2 years of construction project or assistant management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid Driver’s license
Current holder of, or have no restrictions to obtain, Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
4 plus years of Marine/port construction project experience
