AECOM Chemist I - Seattle in Seattle, Washington

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an Entry-Level Chemist for immediate employment in the Seattle, Washington office. This position will join our Environment Business Line’s Remediation Group, work on rewarding projects within a diverse culture, and have access to exceptional training and career development opportunities. Relocation to the Seattle area is required for this role.

This position is expected to begin in April/May 2022.

About AECOM’s Remediation, Restoration and Redevelopment Practice

Job Overview:

The selected candidate will work with oversite from more experienced staff to support plan development (SAPs, QAPPs), data collection/validation/evaluation and report writing.

The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

  • Collects and enters data.

  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Relocation to the Seattle area is required for this role.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or other related area

  • Valid U.S driver's license

  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in laboratory or environmental chemistry.

  • Proficient in standard office computer applications and software, to include Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Detail oriented with all tasks.

  • Position requires analytical and interpersonal skills, and solid planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • A self-learner with the ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Strong oral and written communicator.

  • Ability to obtain 40-hour HAZWOPER training.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% regionally and work outdoors as needed.

  • Required to intermittently drive company or rental vehicles for work.
