Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to be based out of Seattle, WA office and support projects in AECOM offices throughout the pacific northwest.

Relocation to the Portland area is required for this position, as it is not a remote position. The successful candidate is required to have a background in environmental engineering, environmental consulting, project management, and also be a Professional Engineer in Oregon. A background in remediation is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leading engineering tasks, mentoring junior staff, performing project management of environmental projects.

  • Directing project staff and subcontractors

  • Technical submittal delivery

  • Stakeholder engagement and communication

  • Financial management of the projects you manage.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Environmental Engineering or related engineering field (chemical, civil, mechanical).

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Environmental Consulting, Remediation, and Environmental Project Management.

  • Professional Engineer License in Oregon.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in environmental remediation and consulting industry. Occasional overnight travel.

  • Professional Engineer License in Oregon.

  • PMP certification preferred or interest to obtain within 12 months of hire.

  • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations.

  • Experience working on environmental projects for Federal and State clients.

  • Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery.

  • Experience in business development for environmental/remediation projects.

  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders. Have led teams of professionals in executing Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Treatability Studies, Remediation Designs, Remedy Implementation, Construction Oversight, and System O&M in support of environmental projects.

  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or GIS applications. 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.

  • Microsoft office and computer skills.

  • Offered rate of compensation (WA) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $80,756.40-$149,399.34
