Job Description

The Ports and Marine Division of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Civil or Structural Engineer with commercial diving qualifications and experience for immediate employment in the AECOM Seattle office.

The appropriately qualified applicant shall be able to demonstrate relevant experience in marine and waterfront structures inspection (particularly underwater) and design. • Pursue and win new work, prepare adequately priced proposals to accomplish that work and successfully perform the work proposed

• Work with AECOM design teams to deliver well-coordinated design documents and innovative cost savings approaches to new design and retrofit projects

• Provide design and constructability oversight and assure successful project delivery

• Assist in feasibility studies of alternative design approaches in collaboration with the project team

• Accountable for project planning and design management to meet project budgets and schedules

• Prepare and review project reports documenting underwater inspection results, proposed repair methodologies, design drawings and specifications, and project cost estimates Adhere to the AECOM Quality Assurance process

• Display leadership in project planning and execution while working on various-size project teams

• Provide day-to-day mentoring for junior and mid-level engineering and field staff

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering + 8 years of relevant experience on infrastructure and facilities projects

• Registered Professional Engineer in the State of California (Civil or Structural) [or ability to obtain within a year]

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a commercial diver (ADCI or DCBC credentials), including underwater inspections of wharves, piers, docks, bulkheads, piles and/or bridges

• Experience as a design structural engineer working with concrete, steel, masonry and wood with an understanding of the corresponding design Codes and Specifications

• Experience in design roles for waterfront projects including piers, wharves, bulkheads and seawalls

• Knowledge of CADD software such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

• Demonstrated project management experience

• The selected candidate will be subjected to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Registration Screening (MVR)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience in design and condition assessment of waterfront structures

• FHWA NHI Safety Inspection of in-Service Bridges course NHI-130055

• ADCI or DCBC Certified Surface Supplied Air Diving Supervison

• Offered rate of compensation (Washington locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $106,800.34 - $197,580.63
