Job Summary

AECOM has an opportunity for a

Security Clearance Specialist at our Springfield, VA location.

This position requires personnel to have the ability to administer and assure compliance with security regulations and procedures to include security passing requirements in accordance with DoD and NGA guidelines. The position requires personnel to routinely interact with Contractor and Government agencies relative to security and clearance matters.

The duties include but not limited to:

  • Supervise and train security personnel in the areas of document control, personnel clearance processing, and security accesses.

  • Plans and coordinates security, badging services, and related functions to include the implementation and supervision of programs to ensure maximum utilization within the facility.

  • Manage and maintain the classified document data base.

  • Manage and maintain the personnel clearance data base.

  • Manage and process security clearance request transfers from and to associated agencies.

  • Manage and process internal security clearance requests from within the assigned agency.

  • Manage and process foreign national security request in accordance with federal laws and regulations.

  • Ensure adherence to regulations for generation, transfer, storage and handling of classified materials.

  • Assist in processing all manner of security access briefings, indoctrinations and debriefings.

  • Coordinate with the responsible company Facility Security Officer (FSO) or agency Special Security Officer (SSO), to perform functions to ensure personnel DoD Clearance requirements are met and maintained.

  • Screen and process badging and access support to government, prime company, subcontractor personnel, vendors, and visitors at customer/company site(s), to include foreign nationals.

  • Manage and process programs and documents related to the transport of classified documents, equipment and/or media.

  • Develop, implement and maintain procedures related to the industrial, personnel, information and physical security programs.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, occasional Tuesday 9:30 – 6:00 pm

Minimum Requirements

  • Associates Degree and/or at least 3 years’ job-related experience. Two years’ work experience can be substituted for each year of college.

  • Must be able to acquire and maintain access to Scattered Castle, M3/SMS, C-Cure 9000, MDI database, PeopleSoft Access Management System (PSAMS).

  • Position requires basic knowledge of security procedures.

  • Customer service experience with direct customer or client contact.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Have the ability to deal with others in a positive manner.

  • Ability to adapt to frequent change and a fast -paced work environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • US citizenship US citizenship is required.

  • TS/SCI clearance required

Preferred Qualifications
