AECOM Structural Technician I in Stevens Point, Wisconsin

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a candidate for the position of Engineering Technician I in the Transportation Department in Stevens Point, WI. Work will consist of structural and roadway CADD in support of design projects along with construction inspection and administration of WisDOT and local projects, as needed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating directly with AECOM team members for design assignments and contractors and the AECOM project leader for construction assignments.

Successful candidate will be based out of the Stevens Point office. Design assignments will be office based. Construction assignments will require travel during the day or overnight for projects in the North Central Region. The candidate will need to work independently and with other team members to complete quality design and construction tasks on time and within budgets.

The job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Provides basic support in the areas of structural design and plan development, roadway design and plan development, and construction inspection activities in support of projects.

  • Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, plan sheet development, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation.

  • General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.

  • Performs routine tasks while working under close supervision.

  • Entry-level position, previous experience may not be required.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications

The following skill sets are desirable but not required:

  • Associate's Degree

  • Familiarity with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.

  • Familiarity with MicroStation.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel

  • Familiarity with municipal, county, and non-WisDOT construction projects.

  • Familiarity with WisDOT Standard Specifications and material certification requirements.
