Job Description

We're hiring a CEI Project Engineer / Project Administrator to support various transportation design-build projects throughout the Tallahassee and Florida panhandle area.

This role is a hybrid assignment working from project sites, remotely, and occasionally at the AECOM office in Tallahassee.

To qualify as a CEI Project Engineer, candidates must have a Professional Engineer (PE) license registered in the State of Florida or must obtain an endorsement in the State of Florida within six (6) months of Project NTP if registered in another state.

  • Receiving general instructions regarding assignments and exercising initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems related to transportation engineering and construction projects.

  • Directing and assigning specific tasks to administrative and field staff and assisting in all phases of the construction project.

  • Progress estimates and final estimates throughout the construction project duration.

  • Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)

  • Responsible for: Receiving general instructions regarding assignments and exercising initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems.

  • Responsible for: Directing and assigning specific tasks to administrative and field staff and assisting in all phases of the construction project.

  • Responsible for: Progress estimates and final estimates throughout the construction project duration.

  • Under limited supervision, conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.

  • Is fully competent in most aspects of the job.

  • Works on projects of substantial complexity.

  • May assume lead responsibilities for a team of engineers and professional support personnel.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's license with a good driving record.

  • English proficiency and experience communicating with technical and project support staff, both written and verbal.

BA/BS in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management degrees with:

  • Six (6) years of engineering experience in relevant transportation projects.

  • A Master’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management may be substituted for one (1) year of engineering experience

OR High School Diploma with

  • Eight (8) years of CEI or roadway or bridge construction experience,

  • Two (2) of those years were involved in relevant transportation projects.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of Florida

  • Must obtain endorsement in the State of Florida within six (6) months of Project NTP if registered in another state

  • FDOT Advanced MOT

  • CTQP Final Estimates Level II

  • CTQP Quality Control Manager

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $140,000.00.
