Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Estimator II to be based in Tampa, FL.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand and review Pay Estimates provided by Contractors.

  • Develop preliminary work breakdown structure (WBS) for the cost estimate.

  • Assist in providing construction cost estimates from conceptual design development stage through final design development construction documents for transportation infrastructure related projects.

  • Research current market conditions, pricing, statewide average pay items, and other historical data to provide accurate costs for individual components in the cost estimate.

  • Provide estimates dependent on the level of the design development where costs estimates could have a breakdown by labor, equipment, and material.

  • Verify historical data rates with current rates for labor, material, and equipment.

  • Understand market labor shortages and business risks and current rates.

  • Communicate between the different disciplines of the design team, suppliers, sub consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders related to the project about cost impacts and major risks.

  • Understand how cost can be impacted by the schedule.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation. Position requires:

  1. Administration of project cost and scheduling systems;

  2. Bridge and roadway construction and FDOT Projects;

  3. Cost Tracking, budget expenditures, and cost forecasting;

  4. Construction sequencing and construction scheduling;

  5. Performing quantity takeoff for roadway and bridge components;

  6. Performing engineering tasks requiring calculations, complex estimates and financial knowledge;

  7. Developing scope of work and participating in project proposal development and marketing efforts;

  8. Preparing or reviewing invoices and monthly progress estimates for Subcontractors or General Contractors;

  9. Inventory and submission of stockpiled materials;

  10. MAC FDOT (Materials Acceptance and Certification systems);

  11. Storm drainage systems construction, video inspection, and earthwork;

  12. Primavera P6 Scheduling Software;

  13. Cost Estimating Software, understanding of Statewide Averages, construction market conditions, and RS Means; and

  14. Quantity Takeoff Software – Cost X, OST On-Screen.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $61,063.44 - $112,967.37.
