Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a talented and highly motivated Interior Designer for immediate employment in our Tampa, FL office. This position will work within AECOM’s Building & Places (B+P). Ideal candidates have the ability to be part of a collaborative project team, be client-focused, and produce great work.
AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, master planning, urban planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, and Cost Estimating. Our Tampa office includes all disciplines and regularly works across offices and the region.
The Interior Designer III position presents an opportunity for a candidate to excel in their career and develop expertise and contribute to growing our Interiors team. The position will also provide for career growth opportunity in developing overall professional capabilities, including learning to lead projects and teams, client interface and relationships and developing an internal network and knowledge. The responsibilities of this position include, but my not be limited to, the following:
Initiate and develop design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s discipline leads
Under minimal supervision, develop complex interior design drawings
Exercise sound judgment in assessing problem situations or complex design issues and use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions
Review discipline supplier documents and other discipline’s supplier documents for accuracy
Perform thorough and accurate material take-offs for the discipline
Prepare designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures
Review completed work with design and drafting personnel responsible for its completion to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data
Understand and assist with the planning and scheduling of design tasks associated with assigned project
Interpret industry codes, permits, and standards, and ensures design and drawing compliance
Field visits and site surveys
Construction phase services including review of shop drawings and submittals, and field reports
Collaborate on project teams that may include Interior Designers, Architects, Engineers, Cost Estimators, Project Administrators, Contractors, and Clients
Provide mentorship to junior staff
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS plus 4 years of recent relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Demonstrated experience using all of Microsoft Office programs
Experience in project construction documentation using Revit
Experience using SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suites products, Enscape, and/or other related graphic software
Experience with project design and construction documentation and materials
Valid US Driver’s License is required for this position. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required for this role
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture desired
6+ years minimum experience in Interior Design or related field
Additional Information
Portfolio submission will be required just prior to Interview and must demonstrate skills set
Overnight travel will be required to visit client sites
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $85,000.00.
