Job Description

The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water Resources Project Manager/Technical Leader, who will also serve as a Client Services Manager , with a focus in water resources and storm water infrastructure design in our Tamps office. This role within AECOM offers an exciting opportunity to focus on a mix of client business growth, project delivery leadership and mentoring of developing engineering staff by leveraging top notch regional and national water resources engineering expertise and capabilities to expand AECOM’s Tamps area business. The appropriately qualified applicant will be a seller/doer and have the opportunity to manage and work with an established team of professional engineers on a variety of water resources and storm water design projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with senior members of our Water Business Line team to seek new municipal business opportunities

  • Manages projects, including scoping, task management, invoicing and final closeout. Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates detailed phases of engineering work of a major project, or several small-moderate scope projects

  • Supervises and mentors junior staff

  • Planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services and will include activities focused on design of municipal water resources and storm water projects

  • Communicates project tasks between offices – high level of coordination and communication skills required.

  • Makes technical presentations

  • Responsibilities may include overseeing the planning and design of various project elements, the preparation of project reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and documents for inclusion in the final project deliverables

  • Overseeing construction phase engineering services

  • Coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or related degree or equivalency or experience and/or education

  • Six (6) years of related experience, with progressive experience as PE/PM in municipal water resources and storm water infrastructure engineering design, assessment and rehabilitation projects

  • Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to successfully manage diverse teams

  • Minimum 4 years of project management experience including delivering projects successfully, on time and on budget

  • Demonstrated experience in leading/conducting business development activities, pursuing new clients/projects, and serving as project manager on project deliveries

  • A demonstrated proven track record of leading technical engineering and successfully managing water and wastewater projects, resulting in securing additional projects from clients

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years of progressive experience in municipal water resources and storm water infrastructure engineering design, assessment and rehabilitation projects

  • Experience in managing and/or delivering projects by “alternative delivery” approaches a plus

  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer, or the ability to meet the minimum criteria to obtain Professional Engineer registration in the State of Florida within 1 year of employment date

  • Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals

  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse audience

  • Positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative will integrate well with our existing group of outstanding professionals

  • Experience in preparation of engineering proposals for submission to clients
