Position Title Critical Environment Technical Lead - 1st shift

Contingent on award of contract, AECOM is seeking Critical Environment Technical Leads to support our new data center operations and maintenance business units in Texas.
Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
Hiring bonus may be available to qualified candidates outside of the commuting area.
These positions are responsible for performing at the subject matter expert level in responding to work orders, performing advanced troubleshooting, and providing preventative maintenance on facilities and utilities systems and equipment, including but not limited to HVAC/R and controls equipment, mechanical equipment, motors, pumps, plumbing and piping, drains, and related equipment.
Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on temperature, humidity, and pressurization issues.
Utilizes the Building Automation System to track, adjust, and trend.
As a lead technician, this position is also responsible for providing leadership to the maintenance staff and directing the daily workflow of the team.
Coordinates activities between critical environment team in support of ongoing work activities for which they are assigned.
Performs advanced operations on equipment that could directly affect other equipment in the facility.
Monitors contractors while performing tasks in the critical environment.
Provides instruction, mentors and trains less skilled technicians as needed.
Coordinates and/or oversees subcontractor activities.
Effectively communicates with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve complex maintenance problems, and provide solutions to critical infrastructure issues.
Must be self-motivated and demonstrate the strong organizational/time management skills needed to be successful in this role.
Understands and complies with all Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) programs and procedures.
Performs at level of HVAC Subject Matter Expert with demonstrated experience in pneumatic, electric, and electronic control systems.
Demonstrates thorough understanding of air flow dynamics including air handlers, exhaust, and steam humidifiers with the ability to independently diagnose and troubleshoot and provide direction on lab issues.
Demonstrates working knowledge of energy management systems (building automation systems) and has the ability to program, troubleshoot, schedule, and trend data.
Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC controls and operating systems as scheduled in the CMMS.
Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, air dryers, compressors, and other mechanical equipment as necessary.
Demonstrates ability to lead maintenance teams with task assignments, oversight, quality inspections, training, and work order management.
Executes the leadership characteristics and critical thinking skills necessary to coach team members through problem solving and troubleshooting steps.
Creates and modifies site operations procedures for equipment and recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance/reliability.
Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills in order to complete assignments.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Provides excellent customer service and feedback on all work orders while ensuring compliance to codes, regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
Operates equipment such as hand tools, computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment, while remaining flexible in the day-to-day activities for the benefit of the customer.

High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Six years of experience as an HVAC/R maintenance technician in a data center, heavy industrial, or pharmaceutical / biomedical environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
EPA Universal certification
Must have an active or inactive US Government Top Secret Security Clearance . If inactive, must have been active within the last 6 months and be able to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance within 1 year of hire.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
This position may require a valid Driver’s License.

This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Knowledge of data center infrastructure.
Associate’s degree in HVAC, industrial mechanical, industrial electrical, or a related skilled trade.
Experience leading or supervising a multi-skilled technical workforce.
Formal training and experience in building automation systems.
Experience working in a Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) environment.
Experience working with air handling units, cooling towers, air compressors, air dryers, heat exchangers, exhaust systems, VAV pneumatic controls, and energy management systems (building automation control systems).
Experience reading dials, monitoring equipment, and entering data into computer software.
Proficiency with MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
- Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
