The job responsibilities include:
Responsible for contract management, administration and coordination on projects of various sizes and types.
Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating construction engineering documents.
Responsible for monitoring assigned staff to determine that the contractor's activities are monitored and controlled in accordance with project plans, specifications and contractual requirements.
Liaison between the Department, Project Staff and Contractor in resolution of project issues.
Change order evaluation and cost estimating.
Review and evaluate claims for changed conditions.
Analyze and determine resolutions for complex construction/design problems.
Represent projects/clients at meetings and conferences.
Review and respond to Contractor's correspondence as required.
Implement on site procedures to assist staff in performing their work.
Keep client informed regarding project issues and provide possible resolutions.
Read and interpret plans, specifications and special provisions.
Monitor contractor progress and compare with approved Progress Schedule.
Review and evaluate Progress Schedules.
Mentor and train staff.
Administer and manage contract and budget.
Coordinate with other agencies as needed.
The Resident Engineer will take an active role in identifying business development opportunities and helping AECOM position for and win work.
BA/BS + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Arizona PE License
15 years of relevant experience
Experience with projects involving underground utilities
ADOT Resident Engineer experience
Experience leading a CM team
RE experience - minimum of two contracts $20-30M+ construction value
