Job Description
AECOM is seeking a qualified and motivated Civil Director - Water/Wastewaster to become a key member of our Greater Virginia Water Business Line team, based in our Virginia Beach office. The qualified applicant will have experience in water/wastewater engineering and construction management principles, and will be familiar with the design, construction and operation of municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure. The successful applicant will work in an interesting and rewarding consulting engineering environment and will have a demonstrated ability to work with existing clients to provide value-added solutions and to develop strong new client relationships. Key attributes of the position include:
Providing oversight and management for multiple projects/program of varying complexity and sensitivity
Working autonomously within established procedures and practices, with latitude to determine work priorities
Leading preparation of project deliverables using a team of technical and support staff
Assisting with marketing efforts and proposals to provide services or obtain funding for projects or programs
Providing management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforce company and project policies, and act as a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface
Sharing technical expertise and experience with others in the company via internal technical communication and presentations
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related degree, or equivalency of education and/or experience.
10 years’ of relevant experience with minimum 5 years of demonstrated project or program management experience
Professional Engineer License
Preferred Qualifications :
Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Professional Engineer in Virginia or ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire
Project Management Professional or training in project management
Demonstrated experience in coordination with regulatory agencies
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in teams
