AECOM Contract Administrator II Suffolk, VA in Virginia, Virginia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking for a Contract Administrator II for employment based out of 7511 Burbage Dr. Suffolk, VA 23435.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • ​​​​​​Develop, negotiate, and evaluate company contracts on behalf of the company/VDOT.

  • Ensure all parties are complicit with terms of the contract and ensure all contracts abide by local and federal laws.

  • Develop contract proposals to support organizational goals.

  • Create Requisitions for ASD Contracts for end user and PM’s

  • Maintain Operations contract listing in SharePoint.

  • Notify/update end user of upcoming contract renewals ensuring all related ASD forms are completed.

  • Review contract estimates, including proposed materials, production costs, etc., and determine whether they seem reasonable and accurate.

  • Coordinate with and support the Project Manager to ensure the project is executed safely and properly.

  • Develop contract letters and other communications and notices for VDOT and USF.

  • Support negotiations of claims, manage contractual changes, and resolve dispute or conflict resolution with contractors.

  • Ensure compliance with the company and contractors’ health and safety policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Ensure all records are accurate and updated.

  • Create status and project reports regarding progress on projects.

  • Analyze contracts to ensure they comply with state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Take sufficient steps to minimize project risks.

  • Review and update existing contracts.

  • Represent the company in all meetings and functions and keeping Project Manager apprised of all necessary needs.

  • Any other duties assigned by a Supervisor or Project Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and2+ years of experience in related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age.

  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; must also successfully complete Virginia Department of Transportation fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and successfully participate in the program’s mandatory random drug screening process.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years plus experience in a contract administrator role or related field (preferred)

  • Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in an on-site indoor/office environment. Position often requires keyboard/mouse operations; occasionally standing/walking; rarely working with arms above shoulder level, repetitive bending/stooping, climbing stairs, repetitive or fine hand movements, and lifting 50 pounds or less

  • Knowledge of legal requirements associated with contracts

  • Organizational and analytical skills

  • Excellent attention-to-detail and the ability to pinpoint mistakes

  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills

  • Effective communication skills

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment

  • In-depth knowledge of Hampton Roads interstate and local roadways

  • Computer literate; Windows-based application experience

  • Scheduling flexibility

NOTE: This position is designated as essential and, as such, all duties associated with this job are required during emergency situations which may include but are not limited to inclement weather, disaster response and emergency operations. VDOT/Project Management will determine when essential positions are required.
