Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking a Mechanical Quality Control Specialist to join our Program and Project Management team to provide on-site quality assurance services to support our client in the Washington, DC area. Generally, this position requires a specialty in Mechanical and Plumbing systems but also a general working knowledge of all CSI divisions to support site observation.

Job summary duties and responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of current industry standards related to the installation of mechanical systems, with a focus on chilled water systems.

  • Ensure compliance with mechanical trade standards, including ASHRAE, SMACNA, ASME, and others.

  • Review detailed construction documents and specifications, and critically assess submittals to ensure compliance with contract documents and applicable design standards for various projects.

  • Provide Mechanical QA services following best practices and in alignment with CMAA’s Quality Management Guidelines.

  • Support job walkthroughs and participate in the commissioning of mechanical systems, collaborating with commissioning agents and reviewing Pre-functional Checklists, Commissioning Plans, and related documents.

  • Utilize computer skills and functional knowledge of PMIS to support and execute QA duties, with a preference for prior experience using Procore.

  • Provide expertise for projects involving judiciary facilities, historic buildings, or occupied spaces during construction.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or AA/AS (US) + 6 years of related experience or Diploma/Certificate (Canada) + 6 YORE or HS/GED + 8 years of related experience

Preferred Credentials:

  • Degree in related field with a minimum of Five (5) years field experience or, in lieu of a degree, at least Seven (7) years of field experience and professional credentials in the commercial or government building industry. Supervisory and/or journeyman experience in construction trades will be considered.

  • OSHA 30-Hour Certificate.

  • Mechanical P.E..

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $87,778.70 - $125,084.64.
