Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager III for an exciting capital construction project with a federal client in the DC Metro area. AECOM is operating as an Owner's Rep to the client.
This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Responsible for leading a construction management team to deliver capital construction projects for US Federal Government clients
Responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering a group of projects or one major project from conceptual stages through all phases of the projects, with the assistance of the project team
Responsible for overall performance of the project team and takes the lead in reporting and ensuring project completion within budget, schedule and in conformance with specifications
Reviews contracts, architectural/structural scope documents, and available data for the project, and establishes schedules and budgets for compliance with project scope requirements and contract obligations
Takes leadership initiative in working with internal team members, and client departments including cost/scheduling, procurement, quality assurance, construction, contracts, legal, labor relations, finance, accounting and other services and departments as required to successfully manage projects
Provides an integrated project team approach in working with designers, contractors and governing agencies
Reviews and comments on architectural/structural design submissions, change orders, and contracts/sub-contracts, and represent the client interests to ensure control of and validate change orders are current, fair and efficiently processed
Reviews comments received from governing agencies on behalf of the client and coordinates timely resolutions
Responsible to proactively monitor critical project milestone dependencies, and track actions which may result in risks to critical project milestones
Reviews project key performance indicators and forecasts any modifications to schedules, cost estimates, and financial reports, and effectively reconciles risks to commitments that may exceed assigned schedules and budgets
Coordinates communications, stakeholder contacts and maintains good working relationships
Monitors and controls contractual commitments to assure work being performed is in accordance with the specifications and terms of the contracts
Reviews builder submittals and RFI documents, and provides field surveillance to ensure specified quality of design
Conducts project coordination and client meetings as necessary to review progress and discuss upcoming work
Works with stakeholders to negotiate and resolve conflicts, disputes, and potential claims on behalf of the client
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience with managing US Federal Government projects within the past 3 years
4+ years of progressive construction project management experience that includes knowledge architectural/structural of during all project phases: planning, design, preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations
Relevant experience leading contacts, managing people, budgets, schedules, overseeing subcontractor performance, and working with stakeholders and governing agencies on behalf of a public-works owner
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Master degree in Construction Management, engineering, or architecture
Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture professional certifications (CCM/PMP) and/or license (RA/PE)
OSHA 10 Certification
Experience and understanding of all contract documents and in field problem solving skills and the interpretation of drawings and specifications

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $115,000.00 - $125,000.00.
