Job Description
Project Manager – Wastewater Treatment
AECOM is seeking a motivated and experienced Wastewater Treatment Project Manager with a strong process mechanical design background to join our expanding water and civil engineering practice in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
The candidate will manage, plan and lead engineering design projects for wastewater treatment processes, pumping /lift stations, treatment facilities, and conveyance infrastructure.
Additional responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
Plan, organize, and manage the development of project deliverables to ensure timely delivery, technical quality and within budget and scope.
Prepare technical memoranda and proposals as necessary as part of project development life cycle for client review.
Execute multiple concurrent projects efficiently.
Work with the staff to complete studies, design analyses, prepare engineering reports.
Conduct alternative analyses to support business case evaluations for project decisions.
Effectively apply industry standards as well as client standards and requirements.
Work with project teams to coordinate permits for projects, which may require meetings with clients, contractors, utility companies, and reviewing and permitting governmental agencies
Develops a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Manages the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
Performs risk management to minimize project risks
Consistently delivers profit margins planned.
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BS Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
6+ years of related experience with wastewater treatment projects
Professional Engineering License
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering a plus.
12+ years of progressive experience with municipal wastewater treatment, conveyance and pumping engineering, design and permitting.
Professional Engineering License in the District of Columbia.
Must have demonstrated time management skills, work ethic and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with technicians, designers, engineers, and other project managers for the preparation of high-quality work products.
Works collaboratively in teams and independently when necessary.
Must have the ability to communicate and coordinate with clients, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public as may be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.
Experience designing pump stations and wastewater treatment processes.
Qualifications
