Job Summary

AECOM is seeking Production Maintenance Mechanics to join our team of multi-skilled technicians in an Electrical Apparatus manufacturing facility in Waukesha, WI.

  • These positions work 12-hour shifts on a schedule rotation of 3 days on and 2 days off; 2 days on and 3 days off.

  • Both Day and Night shift schedules are available.

These production maintenance technicians are responsible for assisting the team with preventive and corrective maintenance on all production related industrial systems , such as CNC machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, paint lines, winders, and coolant systems.

May also perform welding and work on a wide variety of facility related equipment, such as lighting systems, HVAC, pumps and motors, etc. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: inspections, lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, and associated maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists co-workers in diagnosing malfunctions in process / production machines, equipment and related mechanical equipment.

  • Assists the team with maintaining, operating and troubleshooting facility equipment and systems such as lighting, motors, motor control centers, disconnects, pumps, overhead cranes, gas analyzers, cooling towers etc.

  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.

  • Performs basic plumbing repairs.

  • Performs preventive maintenance on electrical systems, controls, and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.

  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.

  • Demonstrates flexible in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

  1. High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  2. Two years of experience performing mechanical maintenance in an industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

  3. Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

  • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

Special Requirements:

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Associate’s degree or trade school certification in Industrial Mechanical, Industrial Technology, or a related program.

  2. Mechanical skills, sufficient to assist with and perform preventive maintenance and repairs to facility and production related equipment.

  3. Exposure to troubleshooting CNC Machine tools.

  4. Exposure to robotic systems and controls (Fanuc, ABB, etc.).

  5. Experience with basic electrical maintenance, sufficient to perform basic electrical repairs to switches and outlets and to replace lighting ballasts.

  6. Ability to work safely around 480v 3 phase.

  7. Ability to work in a team environment.

  8. Experience safely utilizing a wide variety of hand and power tools.

  9. Basic computer skills for data entry, email, etc.

Other Attributes:

  • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
