The Environment Business Line of AECOM is hiring an Entry-level Biologist in our Williamsport, Pennsylvania office.This position provides unlimited career growth potential while working on an excellent team comprised of a variety of staff and project managers in support of AECOM’s clients. Client projects are currently related to natural gas development, land development, mining/quarrying, transportation, and water resource management.
This position is expected to begin in April 2021.

With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM’s global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals – to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
Collecting and analyzing biological data to determine natural resource impact.
Will specialize in wetland delineation, reporting, and permitting.
Writing technical documents and permit applications.
May specialize in research centering on particular plants and animals and/or the ecology of these organisms.
Position involves a large amount of time in the field – Must be able to walk long distances in rugged terrain and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment at times.
Overnight travel is required and may be for extended periods of time.
THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION. EMPLOYEE WILL BE LAID OFF IN THE WINTER FROM APPROXIMATELY JANUARY 1- APRIL 1.
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Wildlife Studies or related field.
Valid Driver’s license is required.
Ability to travel with little notice.
Must be physically able to carry up to 50lbs of equipment as needed.
Must be able to walk long distances in rugged terrain.
Proficient use of MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
Capable of working in small or large groups.
Capable of delivering high quality technical scientific documentation and reports.
